Book Condition: Fine. Jacket Condition: Fine. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to spine in unclipped pictorial dust-jackets, housed in green cloth-covered slipcase with gilt titles and motifs. All volumes in fine condition including jackets; no annotation or inscriptions. Slipcase near-fine. The set is the republication of the first editions of the first ten titles in the New Naturalist series, originally published from 1945-48 and here identical in every way with the originals including the jacket designs by Clifford and Rosemary Ellis. The New Naturalist volumes are the world's longest running nature series, with new titles still in production. The early titles are hard to find, and print-on-demand copies currently available from Collins cost upwards of £50 each. Scarce.
