Book Condition: Good. Original maroon cloth with gilt titles and ruling to spine and upper board; marbled endpapers. Spine sunned with a few small nicks head and tail. Inner front hinge cracked but holding; edges a little soiled otherwise a clean copy. No annotation or inscriptions. Comprehensive guide to magic divided into “Magicians of the Past” and “Modern Magicians” in which Goldston reveals each magician’s secrets and his own impressions. Goldston (1878-1848) published the work of other magicians as well as many titles of his own on the subject, was a close friend of Harry Houdini, and founder and president of the London Magicians Club.
