A comprehensive selection from the work of Sir John Oglander (1585-1655), the leading authority on Isle of Wight affairs during the reign of Charles I and the owner of Nunwell House. Hugh Ross Williamson (1901-1978), the popular historian, wrote a number of works on the Civil War period and this volume no doubt fitted well into his collection.
