FIRST EDITION, undated but circa 1879. Octavo, pp. 121, [1] Errata, [2] Index. Publishers’ printed salmon paper-covered boards; advertisements to endpapers. Upper board detached; boards surface scuffed and bruised to corners; rear joint cracked but holding; 2-inch loss to spine at tail. Free endpapers lightly toned otherwise contents clean and tight; no annotation or inscriptions. A Good copy overall.
Scarce history of the parish and its seven townships on the Northern side of Newcastle upon Tyne: North Gosforth, South Gosforth, Coxlodge, Fawdon, Kenton, East Brunton and West Brunton. Welford was probably the most noted local historian in Newcastle during the latter half of the 19th century.
