Publishers’ blue cloth with gilt titles to spine, in price-clipped pictorial dust-jacket. Head of spine sunned at tip otherwise cover cloth clean and bright. Signed by the Author to ffep in black ink, below a gift inscription “To my dearest Mike, Many happy returns Love Edna 29th June 1968” in blue ink. Jacket a little nicked and creased to edge, with very slight associated loss at spine tips and upper corners. A Near Fine copy in Very Good jacket.
The story of Joe Brown (1930-2020), the pioneer of British rock-climbing. Brown was one of the post-war generation of working class mountaineers, in a sport previously the preserve of the ruling classes.
