Olive Dent was a schoolteacher who joined the Volunteer Aid Detachment during the Great War, she served as a nurse on the Western Front for two years. This first-hand account of her wartime experiences is a rare example of a women’s perspective on the war and gives an insight into conditions in a tented hospital in Northern France. Scarce, especially in this condition.
