SECOND EDITION. Octavo, pp. [6], 185, [1]. Publishers’ bottle-green cloth with gilt titles to spine, and broad border and titles in blind to upper board, in unclipped printed grey/brown dust-jacket. Spine tips and corners slightly bruised; contents clean with no annotation or inscriptions. Jacket creased top edge and a little rubbed, with inscription to front flap. A Near Fine copy in like jacket.
Correspondence of the Anglo-American novelist, who joined the Canadian Army in 1916 and served for the duration of the Great War. Dawson (1883-1959) gives his first hand impressions direct from the trenches of the Somme. Scarce, particularly in the original 1917 dust-jacket.
