Account of the celebrations marking the safe return of the Major from the South African War, including the presentation of Swords of Honour to the Major and Captain H. Carr, and bracelet to Mrs Carr-Ellison. Ralph Henry Carr-Ellison of Hedgeley Hall in Northumberland (1863-1923) rose to the rank of Colonel of the 1st (Royal) Dragoons and the images include close-ups of the presented swords and jewellery. Rare.
