FIRST EDITION THUS. A complete seven volume set in harlequin colours of the first printings of the Deluxe editions; with the required 1 - 10 number sequences in each book. The ‘Philosophers Stone’, ‘Chamber of Secrets’ and ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’ volumes are SIGNED by J. K. Rowling to their dedication leaves. The books come with a cache of 8 supporting photographs of the Watersones book launch for the ‘Goblet of Fire’ (including 2 featuring J. K. Rowling at the signing event) as well as in-store ephemera for the ‘Chamber of Secrets’ book launch. Publishers’ cloth with gilt titles to spines and upper board, and square colour pictorial onlay to upper board inside gilt ruled border, above author’s facsimile signature blocked in gilt; a.e.g; satin place-markers. No jackets (as issued). Still housed in the original Waterstones packaging box. These books were purchased in store upon publication by the children's book buyer at Dillon's, Newcastle in the late 1990's/early 2000’s. The first three books were signed at the ‘Goblet of Fire’ book launch at Waterstones, Newcastle Upon Tyne, on Monday 10th July 2000, two days after the book was published. The Deluxe edition of the ‘Goblet of Fire’ is not signed as it was not published simultaneously with the first trade edition. It is evident from the photographs that they were taken during the set-up of the signing event prior to the public being allowed in to the store. A FINE set of the complete Deluxe Harry Potter series, all first editions with the first three (and scarcest) books signed with a superb provenance. It is highly unusual to encounter signed Harry Potter material with such supporting ephemera. Sold
