We are established booksellers with over 25 years experience. We are proud members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABA), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) and the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association (PBFA). The ABA is the oldest organisation of its kind in the world - and the UK's senior trade body for dealers in fine, rare and antiquarian books. Our valuations and offers to purchase are conducted according to the guidelines of the Association's Code of Good Practice.
SELL BOOKS TO US
We buy single volumes to entire libraries, including rare and fine books, antiquarian books, first editions, signed books and good quality second-hand books.

Our offers are competitive and fair and neither distance, nor volume of books, are an obstacle. As well as buying books on our doorstep; Northumberland, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland etc, we also travel throughout the North of England (including regularly to Scotland, Carlisle, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham) and beyond to buy books.

As well as books we also buy manuscript documents; for instance a handwritten diary or scrapbook, letters, log books and common place books. We also buy chapbooks, broadsides, posters, postcards and other printed ephemera.

To arrange a house call so we can buy the books at your home:
Please call us on 0191 2960664 to discuss your books, and to arrange a visit. We may suggest a WhatsApp video call for an initial evaluation of your books.

To bring books to the bookshop to sell:
If you think your books are collectable, rare or antiquarian please call us first for some initial advice, and to arrange an appointment- ask to speak to Anthony. If you have a small quantity of modern books, please pop in during normal opening hours, no appointment is needed. If you are using your car to drop off books for sale, there is on-street parking on Park View, plus a one dedicated parking place in our rear yard. It's helpful to phone in advance (0191 2960664) if you wish to unload in our yard, to ensure the gate is open for your arrival.

To set up an appointment to sell your books please email us or phone us 0191 296 0664. Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.

LIBRARIES AND INSTITUTIONS DE-ACCESSIONING STOCK
We can provide valuation and consultation services for institutions, libraries and archives looking to value or deaccession their holdings.

We understand the nuances of institutional disposal policies and closely follow advice given by CILIP in their 'Disposals Policy for Rare Books and Manuscripts' statement. With this in mind, we provide expert advice on the best method of de-accessioning stock whether by auction, consignment or private sale. With many years experience in this regard, we can help identify books of value whilst taking heed of the conservation of core/special collections, provenance and publicity.

Please get in touch for more information about our rates and services.

STYLISTS & PROPS BUYERS
We can supply books and other paper related materials for use as props and dressing in film and television productions, photo shoots and retail displays. We also supply interior designers and decorators with books and prints for private libraries or for use in commercial projects.
