In the first state binding of quarter mustard cloth and black paper covered boards. Lacking the paper spine label. Boards a little scuffed, coal black endpapers replaced, contents crisp. With an enigmatic gift inscription to the ffep in an elegant hand “Nou, from her own lover. 1920”.
 
Rare and elegantly crafted first edition of Eliot’s third book of poetry. This edition of 264 copies is the first book printed by John Rodker, completed December 10, 1919. Printed on heavy, untrimmed handmade paper. With superb woodcut initials and colophon by Edward Wadsworth, a key figure in the Vorticist movement.
