Revised Edition. Octavo, pp. xvi, 578. Frontispiece of “Eccentrics and Well-Known Characters in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne” plus numerous illustrations in text. Publishers’ green quarter morocco and dark green cloth boards, with gilt titles and motif to spine and gilt River God Tyne motif to upper board. Marbled endpapers. Spine a little scuffed with wear at tips, and slight wear to corners. Two tidy ownership inscriptions to verso ffep, dated 1892 and 1940 respectively; scattered light foxing, mainly to textblock edge as usual, otherwise contents clean. A very good copy.
Illustrated revised edition of the popular Songster, with notes on origins, many engravings and photographs of local views and characters, and facsimile signatures of lyricists. Scarce.
