Second Issue. Quarto, pp. xxii, [2], 230, xxv-liii paginated to include covers. 4 fold-out maps/plans of which 3 in colour; numerous monochrome illustrations throughout; 48pp ads front and rear. Original red cloth with black titles and Chamber of Commerce crest to upper board. Tyne Improvement Commission Folder Plan of the River Tyne loosely inserted.

Spine lightly sunned; lower board damp stained at lower corner with associated staining to rear pastedown and last few leaves. Slightly shaken with cracked inner front hinge. No annotation or inscriptions. A Good copy.
 
Follow-up to the 1908 “River Tyne: Its Advantages and Possibilities”, the highly successful publication aimed at a commercial and industrial market both inland and worldwide, and bringing it up to date to include developments in coal-mining, shipping, iron and steel and other engineering industries. This was Newcastle Upon Tyne at the height of its industrial prowess. Rare, COPAC locates no copies in UK institutional libraries.
