Decorative brown cloth with gilt titles and black ruled border to upper board, and decoration in blind to lower board. Floral green endpapers. Cover cloth a little rubbed at spine tips; gilt slightly dull. A slightly shaken copy with weak inner hinges; ex-library with stamps inside and scuff to rear paste-down. Foxing to textblock edges. A very good copy overall. “This book complete in Itself” (from title page) and though pagination begins at p. 34 the book appears to be an extract from a periodical and is complete in itself. Comprehensive county by county guide to England’s principal industrial companies and firms, followed by more detailed descriptions of the main commercial activities of individual towns, beginning with Colmans the mustard manufacturers and other industrialists of Norwich. Contents include everything from tile manufacturers, brass founders and upholsterers through to chemists,boat builders and cider makers.
