FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. 335, [1]. 6 plates including frontispiece with tissue guard. Publishers’ decorative maroon cloth with gilt titles and art nouveau design in green to spine and upper board’ top edge gilt. Spine a little toned, and rubbed at tips; corners and fore-edge slightly bruised. Free endpapers tanned with two ownership inscriptions to ffep, and a few leaves roughly opened, otherwise contents clean. A Very Good copy.
Historical novel set amongst the monastic community at Tynemouth in the seventh century. Scarce.
