FIRST EDITION. Softcover quarto, pp. xii, 147, [1]. Full page frontispiece portrait of George Robertson in uniform, plus 42 numbered images to plate section and numerous in-text copies of letters and newspaper reports etc. Pictorial card wraps. A Fine copy, with no annotation or inscriptions.
 
Scarce. Family letters of an officer who came from an ordinary background rather than the gentry from which the majority of the officer class sprung. Compiled by his niece, who was born long after George was killed on the Somme.
