FIRST EDITION. Large octavo (approx 27.5 cm x 18 cm) pp. lxx, 1009, [1]. Facsimile of draft of Sir Edward Grey’s telegram to Sir E. Goschen October 18th 1913 as frontispiece. Publishers’ finely reeded purple cloth with gilt titles to spine and border in blind to boards; all edges sprinkled red. Spine sunned, with wear at tips. An ex-library copy with the usual stamps and stickers, and remains of card pocket to front pastedown; contents otherwise clean and crisp with few signs of library use. A Good copy.

This volume covers the Balkan wars, the Potsdam meeting of the German and Russian Emperors and Anglo-Russian friction in Persia, and includes much from the private papers of Sir Edward Grey and Lord Carnock.
