First edition. Pp. vii, [1], 9. Grey stab-stitched publishers’ wraps. Wrappers detached from text block. Closed tears and loss to edges of wraps, upper and lower wrap almost completely split along spine and only just holding together. Text block stitches intact and secure. One or two miniscule, faint spots of foxing and ink “For Review” stamp to title-page, otherwise contents remarkably clean and crisp and free of inscriptions or annotations. Scarce first printing of the first book by Dame Edith Sitwell, the dazzlingly bizarre British eccentric, poet, patron, and literary critic. Copies are necessarily rare, being limited to 500 copies of which 200 were pulped a decade later. £375.00
