The main pedigree, which would normally be folded inside the pocket to the lower board, is here bound separately together with an additional copy of the Pedigree of the Liverpool branch of the family headed by Joseph Heape of Rochdale (1762-1833); the pedigree volume is bound in full black morocco with gilt titles to upper board and decoration in blind to boards, and the 2 pedigrees are backed onto linen. Spine lightly sunned. Ownership blindstamp of Christopher Beardsell to ffep; no annotation or inscriptions. Pedigree volume sunned to spine with tips lightly rubbed and some staining and toning to pedigrees. A Near Fine copy with Very Good bound pedigree.

A lavish and comprehensive family history of the Heapes since records began, which cost the princely sum of £1700 to produce at the turn of the twentieth century. Associated families in the pedigrees include those of Chadwick, Fitton, Dawson, Butterworth, Radcliffe, Grundy, Cox and others. Of Lancashire & Yorkshire interest, and very well illustrated. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
