FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. [6], 218, [8] catalogue. Publishers’ duck-egg-blue cloth with black titles to spine and upper board, in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Spine tips & lower corners slightly bruised otherwise binding clean and bright; scattered light foxing, mainly to prelims and text-block top edge. Jacket lightly surface soiled, with a little foxing and a few nicks & creases to edges. A very good copy in like jacket.
The narrative from the famous play of the same name translated into well over twenty languages, and also adapted for film the year after publication. Scarce, especially so in the original art deco influenced dust-jacket.
