Engraved armorial bookplate of Samuel James, Baron Waring (1860-1940). Scuffs to boards, joints cracked but holding well, corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Contents clean and bright. A Very Good copy. Samuel James, Baron Waring was a businessman and promoter of the decorative arts. The Waring interior design firm was responsible for the design of cruise liners, palaces, and hotels including the Ritz, the Carlton, and the Waldorf. Waring’s was one of the founders of what is now Selfridge’s department store. £350.00
