Small ink numeral in contemporary hand to title-page. Nick to fore-edge of title-page, area of loss approximately 5cm to corner of A2, affecting text. A fair copy.
 
Dryden and Lee’s adaptation of Sophocles’ Oedipus Tyrannus. The publisher, Richard Bentley, earned the moniker ‘novel Bentley’ due to his penchant for publishing roman à clefs (Dunton, Life). He had previously published Dryden’s Religio Laici (1682).
