The first edition of two novellas by the celebrated Anglo-Irish novelist Maria Edgeworth (1768-1849). Harrington is an autobiography of a ‘recovering anti-semite’, which draws comparison between the discrimination of Jews and Irish Catholics. Ormond is an anti-Jacobite novel which follows the path of the titular protagonist Harry Ormond, an Irishman who must choose between loyalty to revolutionary Ireland or the United Kingdom.
