Joseph Conrad is one of the most celebrated writers in the English language. His novels and short stories, written in poetic prose, have been recognised for their moral, psychological, and political sophistication. Conrad’s work was embraced by figures as diverse as T. S. Eliot, Bertrand Russell, Graham Greene, Virginia Woolf, Jorge Luis Borges, John Le Carré, V. S. Naipaul, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, William S. Burrows, Francis Ford Coppola, and Orson Wellves. This excellently presented Folio society set comprises all of Conrad’s major works, and is newly illustrated with striking linocuts executed in an expressionist style that aptly matches the mood and texture of much of Conrad’s prose.
