Publisher’s original paper-covered boards printed in designs by Ward on black cloth back, titled to printed paper spine label; white end-papers. Shelf-wear to corners and to head and tail of boards; paper to spine and boards slightly toned. Contents clean and rather fresh. A very good copy. The second graphic novel by the American artist, after Ward pioneered the genre in God’s Man (1929). Madman’s Drum was more ambitious, more complex, and used a greater variety of wood-engraving techniques. £85.00
