Chit of a Girl.

Publisher: Routledge and Kegan Paul., London;
Date of Publication: 1949
Stock Code: 15308

First British edition, after the French original of 1938. Octavo, pp., 265. Publisher’s bright red cloth with title blocked in black to spine; white end-paper; in the original unclipped, pictorial dust-jacket. Minor scuff to upper panel of jacket; minor nicks to edges; light soiling to jacket. Slight fading to head of upper board; binding otherwise strong and square. Spotting to fore-edge and to end-papers, otherwise internally clean. A very good or better copy in like jacket.

Two novellas in one volume: one on Simenon’s usual subject of crime and skulduggery, the other (lending its title to the volume) on the rivalrous relationship between two sisters attempting to win a lover. A bright copy.
