Publisher’s cream paper-covered boards over vellum back; titled in gilt to spine; gilt fillets to boards; top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed; white end-papers. Letter and postcard from the poet’s daughter, the book illustrator Judith Masefield (1904-88), taped to end; poster for Masefield’s memorial service on 11-15 September 1971 tipped in; further newspaper articles on the poet tipped in and pasted to end. Soiling to spine; toning to edge of boards; corners bumped. Offsetting to end-papers but internally clean. A very good copy. A selection of fifty poems drawn from Masefield’s collected works. An interesting copy containing a variety of examples of Masefieldiana, possibly drawn together by the Tom and Ms Summers to whom the postcard and letter from Judith Masefield are addressed. £200.00
