Jacket price-clipped; tear and loss to head of spine panel; chips to corners and foot of upper panel. Cloth clean and bright. Foxing to fore-edge otherwise clean and in good order. A very good copy in good jacket.

A detailed anthropological study of the Balkans by an Albanophile author. Durham began her travels in the Balkans at the turn of the twentieth century, travelling on horseback onto untracked routes in the Albanian mountains. She advocated tirelessly for the Albanian cause, founding the Anglo-Albanian society and writing frequently on the plight of the Albanian people. A scarce book, especially so in the original 1928 dust-jacket.
