Peabody Museum bookplate (cancelled) dated 1919 to front paste-down; Unobtrusive Peabody museum stamps in blind to frontispiece and title-page. Spine sunned; corners a touch bumped and rubbed; foxing to fore-edge; binding otherwise square. Occasional light scattered foxing internally. A very serviceable copy.
A sensationalist account of the travels of an Anglo-Australian journalist across the Pacific. This copy was formerly owned by the Peabody Essex Museum of Salem, Mass., which holds significant collections of Asian and Pacific art, and was successor to the East India Marine Society.
