Publishers’ pictorial paper-covered boards with illustration by Cliff Wright, in the matching unclipped first state pictorial dust-jacket (without the comma’s after the children’s names to dust-jacket flap). The boards clean and fresh. with a slight bruise to the tail of the spine. The text-block is tight, square and crisp with no annotations or inscriptions. Some very minor shelf-wear to the dust-jacket extremities, minor discolouration of a few millimeters to top-edge of verso of jacket. Not price-clipped and with an unfaded spine. The second novel in the ever popular Harry Potter series, published 2nd July 1998. On p. 67 of his bibliography Philip Errington notes that ‘Many collectors have expressed doubt over the print-run of 706 copies. This is the figure provided by the publisher after consultation with the printer’. A near fine copy of a necessarily scarce and highly collectible book. £2000.00
