A practical guide to automobiles for the Victorian motorist. Motoring came to England in the mid 1880s, although heavily restricted until a new Act of 1896 deregulated automobiles on England’s highways. This is one of the very first books published following the emancipation of the motor car. The volume provides the motorist with a guide to varieties of automobile, technical discussions of engines and other aspects of mechanical engineering, as well as appendices on the regulation of the roads.
