FIRST EDITION. Small 8vo. 12pp (pagination includes upper cover). Pamphlet with single-stitch binding; bee-hive vignette and titles in border to front cover. Just a suspicion of toning to foredge otherwise a clean copy.
A 19th century provincial printing written by a rural Northumberland bee-keeper; full of helpful hints on how to rear and keep bees, “from 34 years' experience and study of the habits of the Honey Bee”. Not in Harding's British Bee Books and COPAC locates a single copy at the BL only; considered rare enough in 1990 to be worthy of a facsimile edition of only 50 copies. This is not the facsimile but the 1887 original.
