LIMITED EDITION: one of 250 large-paper copies signed “Proofs And. W. Tuer” to half-title. Quarto, pp. 48, [1] advertisement leaf. 12 engraved plates with tissue guards of which 6 by Fuller, plus numerous illustrations throughout, of which 15 are hand-coloured. Half taupe cloth and grey paper-covered boards; paper title onlay to upper board. Wear to spine tips and corners; boards lightly scuffed and soiled with foxing to title label and minor wear to edge. Pictorial bookplate of James Unitt Parkes to front pastedown and Tuer signature to half-title. A little minor foxing to endpapers otherwise contents clean. A Very Good copy.
Text on the historic calls of the street tradesmen of London. The Street Crier illustrations of “Toys”, “Eggs”, & “Flowers” are all by Crawhall and the illustrations also include examples by Cruikshank and Rowlandson, and others. Scarce.
