Publishers’ decorative green cloth with gilt titles and silhouette motifs to blue panels to spine and upper board. Pictorial endpapers. Spine a little toned, and rubbed at tips. Inner front hinge cracked showing linen; inscribed printed presentation plate with colour vine imagery and gilt edge to ffep, dated 1912. Single plate loose at top with associated creasing to margin, but still attached; contents clean and bright. A Good copy. Children’s short story collection aimed at supporters of animal charities, with the aim of encouraging kindness to all creatures. The majority of the attractive illustrations feature dogs and horses, but lions, a canary and others are also included. Scarce. £45.00
