The first reprint of the first published novel by the William Hope Hodgson (1877-1918). The work is written in an archaic style and presented as a real account of events in 1757, with narrator John Winterslow a passenger on the ill fated vessel, “Glen Carrig”. Hope Hodgson effectively combined elements of horror, ‘lost world’ tales and supernatural sea stories to great effect.
