Tips on the smooth running of the Victorian household, including hygiene, cookery, illness, childcare and other aspects of domestic life. Mrs Balfour (1808-78) was a philanthropist and temperance advocate, and a prolific author particularly of scriptural works. The 16 pp., publishers catalogue at end “Catalogue of Illustrated Books Suitable For Presents and Distribution” was printed for the International Exhibition of 1862 and is a delight.
