Publishers’ brown cloth with bevelled boards, gilt titles and decoration to spine and quadruple border in blind to boards. Spine tips and corners a little worn; scattered light foxing, mainly to prelims, otherwise contents clean with no annotation or inscriptions. A very good copy indeed. Rare and comprehensive study of the liturgy and rituals of the church, including hymnals, Bibles, psalters and breviaries, by Catholic convert William Maskell (1814-1890), the eminent liturgical scholar.
