FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp., vi, [2], 167, [1] (musical notation for the Airs pp.,159-167). Bound by Remnant and Edmonds in bottle-green finely diced blind-embossed cloth with gilt titles to spine and convivial scene of fishermen relaxing after their sport in gilt to upper board. Cover cloth lightly spine sunned with wear at tips; edges rubbed and corners bruised. Text-block cracked with associated loose gathering, little scattered light foxing. A good copy.
 
Scarce collection of 16 folk songs from Coquetdale in Northumberland, with notes and music, comprising Robert Roxby’s contributions to the “Newcastle Fishers’ Garlands” with others, accompanied with a history of their composition and life of Roxby.
