Second state, with "anguish" corrected to "aguish" at line 17, p. 26.
Spine and board edges lightly toned; some natural spotting to leather. Clean and bright with no annotation or inscriptions. A near-fine copy in handsome binding. A sparkling copy of Rossetti’s dark, sensuous and critically contested masterpiece. Printed with Pre-Raphaelite illustrations by the poet’s brother, Dante Gabriel, and bound by one of the most celebrated binderies of the twentieth century. £2250.00
