All edges gilt. Gilt ornaments to dentelles with Zaehnsdorf binder’s stamp to same; rear endpaper also blind-stamped with Zaehnsdorf’s oval stamp reserved by their very best exhibition bindings. Spines very lightly toned; small scuff to lower board Vol II. Light foxing, almost exclusively to prelims and endpapers. A near fine set. Sterne’s controversial life history novel of misunderstanding and domestic upset, in which the central character takes excessive time to describe his life events in an absurd fashion.
