Front joint split but holding; corners bruised. Gilt dull. Scattered light foxing & soiling and a few leaves corner-creased; damp staining to rfep and adjacent blanks.
One of the earliest books on the use of iodine in glandular diseases in which the author recommended the use of sea water and sea weeds, which contain iodine, for the cure of enlarged lymphatic glands. Russell (1687-1759) also encouraged submersion in sea water and this was the first title to connect drinking and bathing in the sea with improvements in health, proclaiming that Brighton was superior to inland spas. Scarce.
