Publisher’s striking blood-red cloth with titles blocked in black and gilt to spine and upper board with a tiger blocked in black and gilt to upper board. Housed in a black slipcase with gilt badge of the fictional South Essex Regiment (modelled on the badge of the DLI) to lower board. A fine copy, slipcase lightly sun-faded with a few minor scuffs. An attractive copy of the 15th serialised and 1st chronological novel in Cornwell’s Sharpe series, chronicling titular character Richard Sharpe’s time serving in India. One of only 250 copies signed by Cornwell to a specially commissioned Folio Society bookplate. £275.00
