Date of Publication: 1912

First Rider edition (stated ninth edition on title-page). Duodecimo, pp., viii, 404, 4 of publisher’s advertisements. Publisher’s original crimson cloth, Art-Nouveau design stamped in blind to spine and upper board, titled in gilt to spine. Spine slightly sunned, spots of fading to upper board, a spot of soiling to lower board, corners very slightly rubbed, spine a little cocked but binding strong and rather square. Toning to edges of text-block, a few spots to prelims but otherwise clean. A very good copy.

An early edition of Dracula, for which the text was entirely reset. Rider & Son were Stoker’s publisher of choice for reprints of The Mystery of the Sea, The Jewel of the Seven Stars, The Lady of the Shroud, and the first edition of The Lair of the White Worm, which is advertised in the publisher’s catalogue to the end of this volume.
