Vita Sackville-West (1892-1962) was a British poet, author, and gardener, known for (amongst other things) being the creator of the Sissinghurst Castle Garden and a member of the Bloomsbury Group. From 1946 she wrote a gardening column for The Observer, in which she discussed a wide array of horticultural issues. This is the third collection of those columns.
