Bevelled brown pictorial cloth with ruling in blind to lower board, gilt titles to spine and upper board; blocked in gilt & black to spine and upper board with scenes from Christian’s journey. All edges gilt; primrose yellow endpapers. Cover cloth very slightly rubbed to edges. Tidy ownership inscription to ffep dated 1883; a litle scattered foxing. A Very Good copy indeed. Illustrated edition of Bunyan’s classic text, in an attractive and very well preserved gilt-embossed binding typical of the period. Sold
