A very good copy in like dust- jacket.
The Grey Walls edition of Fitzgerald’s iconic novel of the frenetic Roaring Twenties is the the true first British edition as the Chatto & Windus edition of 1926 was reprinted from the original American plates. Fitzgerald died believing that his magnum opus, despite some positive reviews, was a commercial and personal failure. It was not until a post-war reassessment that Gatsby was elevated to the status of a modern masterpiece, epitome of the Jazz Age, and contender for the crown of the Great American Novel.
