M. R. James’ continuation of palaeographical and bibliographical scholarship for the Fitzwilliam manuscript collection which describes the 203 illuminated medieval manuscripts bequeathed to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge by Frank McClean. James is perhaps more well known for his ghost story collections, many of which were directly inspired by the images found within the manuscripts he catalogued, and his work as an antiquarian, librarian, academic more generally. Exquisitely illustrated with 108 plates. Please note this is a heavyweight book so a contribution towards extra postage will be requested from overseas customers.
