Bound in publisher’s crimson cloth with blind stamped ivy borders, gilt angling vignette stamped to upper board, gilt spine title and spine decoration. Light wear and fading to cloth at spine; armourial bookplate to front paste-down, ownership name to back endpaper, minor ink stain to map.
First edition of the anonymously published guide to angling on the Scottish-English Border area, in the original publisher’s cloth. Attributed to Scottish author James Glass Bertram (1824-1892) who is perhaps best known for his pseudonymous output on sadomasochism and flagellation.
