Cloth clean and sensitively rebacked with original spine laid on; Armourial bookplate of Edward Balme Wheatley Balme (1819-1896) to front pastedown, historic shelfmark labels/pencil, and miniscule “m.t.w.t.f” inscribed neatly in ink to endpapers; Usual light scattered foxing mainly to prelims. Free from annotations or ownership inscriptions. Overall a very good copy. Angling classic which includes fishing ballads that would later be collected by Joseph Crawhall III in his “Newcastle Fishers’ Garlands” published in 1864.
