Fourth Edition. 12 mo. pp. [16], 416. Printed in double columns of Latin and English text. Maroon full straight-grained morocco with heavily gilt floral decoration in panels to spine, tooled borders to boards; gilt dentelles & marbled endpapers; all edges. Silver metal clasps (no hall mark but appears to be solid silver). Binding lightly rubbed, and boards slightly bowed from tight clasps. Tidy ownership inscriptions of one Mary Tunstall and one Isabella Widdrington Riddle in ink to first blank, the first dated 1781. A little scattered foxing, mainly to text-block edge, and a few leaves corners creased otherwise contents clean and crisp.
 
A well preserved 18th c. pocket Breviary in an unusually handsome binding with silver clasps, that sits very well in the hand.
